Aged for a minimum of 6 years in ex-bourbon barrels, this old rum enjoyed a double maturation and was transferred for another two years in ex-cognac barrels to acquire more finesse and richness. A limited edition of only 5 barrels. Single cask 230. Bourbon & cognac cask A limited edition of 2000 bottles. Vanilla, notes of undergrowth (musk, chestnut) and sugar cane form its first nose. There are citrus fruits (orange, clementine) and spices (cloves, nutmeg, cumin). Initially floral (rose petal, iris) and spicy (black pepper) or even spicy notes dominate. Then the fruits arrive one after the other: mango, pear, apricot, citrus.
It is inside the Esperance distillery, the oldest in Guadeloupe, located in the heart of the Domaine du Marquisat de Sainte-Marie, that the Karukera rums are produced, thus benefiting from ancestral know-how. Produced from a single variety of sugar cane, the blue cane, coming exclusively from the 70 hectares of plantations of the Domaine, the Karukera agricultural rums are distinguished by their aromas of fresh cane and citrus fruits typical of this variety of cane.
