When in 1979 Giovanni Allegrini, moved by a brilliant intuition and a deep knowledge of his beloved Valpolicella, decided to plant on the top of La Grola, the most important of the company's vineyards, only Corvina Veronese grapes, perhaps he did not imagine the extraordinary success that this wine would have reached. Allegrini's Veronese IGT “La Poja” is a red with an enthralling personality, as fresh and reactive as it is smooth and harmonious. Vinified in steel and left to mature in barrique for a period of about 20 months, it is a wine capable of giving emotions even after many years.
Dark ruby red, the nose expresses ample fruity notes embellished with hints of spices and medicinal herbs. On the palate it is juicy, long, harmonious and rich. A balanced taste, even fresh, characterized by a tannic texture of great delicacy and a vibrant finish for persistence.
