Three types of woods are used for the aging of Tomatin 12 YO: Bourbon barrels, Refill Hogsheads and Sherry Butts. The distillate remains to age in the three types for a period that lasts approximately 11 years and 6 months. At this point everything is mixed and left to age again in Refill Oloroso Sherry Butts for a further 6-9 months. It is bottled at 43%.
