Of all the expressions of Tullibardine, 228 Burgundy is the one that best represents the connection between the Picard family, wine producers in Burgundy, and the distillery. After an initial aging in ex-bourbon barrels, the whiskey is further aged in 228-litre barrels which previously contained Pinot Noir from Au Pied du Mont Chauve in Chassagne-Montrachet.
The nose releases aromas of cherry and red fruits accompanied by notes of chocolate, vanilla and spices. On the palate it is soft, warm and enveloping.
