The Torrette Superiore of the Les Cretes winery is produced with the native red grape variety Petit Rouge, to which is added a small percentage of other varieties historically present in the Valley: Mayolet, Cornalin and Fumin.

The red Torrette Superiore is produced in the Aymavilles area, near Aosta, by the Les Cretes winery, one of the most important realities in the area. The beautiful sunny exposures and the cool climate of the Alpine area guarantee considerable temperature changes, which give the grapes very intense aromas. The vines of Petit Rouge, Mayolet, Cornalin and Fumin are cultivated in Les Toules di Sarre, in the historic area of Torrette at about 750 meters above sea level, on loose soils of mature morainic with considerable presence of sand. The harvest takes place manually in mid-October. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with an 8-day maceration on the skins. It matures in steel tanks for 8 months and ends the refinement process with 5 months in the bottle.

Torrette Superiore wine is the classic mountain red, characterized by a medium-bodied body, great fragrance and freshness. It has a dark red color. The nose releases intense floral aromas and small dark berries. The sip gives a juicy and still crunchy fruit, subtle tannins and a lively freshness finish.
