Girlan

Girlan Winery was founded in 1923 on a historic 16th-century farmstead. At that time 24 winemakers laid the foundation stone of what would later become the present winery. Behind these walls of ancient tradition and in the intricate cellar corridors lie the secrets of state-of-the-art winemaking technology and the ideal conditions for aging our wines.

Today, about 200 winegrowing families, spread over a vineyard area of about 230 hectares in the best production areas of Oltradige and Bassa Atesina, work with great dedication and motivation. Winemaker Gerhard Kofler maintains a close personal relationship with the winemakers, advising them during the growing season. And it is from this fruitful exchange of experience that the basis for aiming for products of the highest quality is born.

We pursue the following main goals: on the one hand, to revalue ancient South Tyrolean grape varieties and on the other hand, to create wines of character with international grape varieties, while still tying them to the terroir. All this while respecting the times dictated by nature.
