Margherita Otto
"It was February 1995 when Alan Manely, a passionate wine connoisseur who grew up between Westchester and Colorado, visited the Langhe for the first time. As often happens, it was love at first sight. Alan has lived here since 2011 and in those years spent every harvest with a different Langhe producer, studying their interpretations, vineyard management, terroir and vinification. He collects the names of important masters during his summer-autumn stays and begins to use the traditional blending method for his Barolo: the Monforte, Serralunga d'Alba and Castiglione Falletto grapes ferment together, in contact with the skins, for 45 days. Thus was born Margherita Otto - the mother's name, the father's surname - a brand to describe elegant, precise wines with structure and determination like those he saw done by his teachers."
