Comando G Viticultores

Comando G Viticultores was founded in 2008 by Daniel Gomez Landi and Fernando Garcia, friends since their studies in Oenology and Viticulture at the University of Madrid and united by the same land, the Sierra de Gredos, and by the same idea, that of making wines that reflect the sense of place, the landscape and the identity of the vineyards. This land, located in a mountainous area ranging from 900 to 1000 meters above sea level, about a hundred kilometers east of the capital Madrid, is a land that boasts an incredible heritage of old vineyards, many of which are centenary and frank.

Their philosophy is to make wines of "pueblos, parajes, parcelas" or, drawing a parallel with Burgundy, producing wines of municipal denomination (Village), district (1er Cru) and parcel (Grand Cru). The 5 hectares of vineyards, to which other rented land is added, are located in mountainous areas that are sometimes very inaccessible and difficult to reach, managed biodynamically and worked with horses so as not to ruin the granite sandy soils. Obviously, neither pesticides nor chemical pesticides are used.

It is precisely on these hills that Daniel and Fernando began working the vineyards with the aim of demonstrating how the underrated local variety Garnacha (Grenache) could prove elegant and refined. The introduction of amphorae in winemaking and aging goes precisely in this direction, to find the maximum purity of expression. The amphorae used by Comando G are non-buried Spanish tinajas, produced by Padilla (the same ones used by Foradori), giving wines that intend to reflect belonging to the place where Daniel and Fernando always seek freshness and minerality.
