Vieux Labbè
Since 1765, Haiti has produced more than thirty brands of rum: today there are very few left. One of these is Berling S.A. Until 2010, the year of the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti, the Barbancourt family produced rum on a hill 2700 feet above the capital Port-au-Prince. Here are the remains of the famous castle of Jane Barbancourt, which every year attracts many visitors. Vieux Labbé rum is produced in memory of Labbé Barbancourt, grandfather of the late Jane Barbancourt, great-grandfather of Herbert Barbancourt Linge, now president of Berling SA.
