Domaine de La Tour du Bon

On a promontory, in the extreme North West of the Bandol appellation, the Domaine de La Tour du Bon, one of the founding members of the Provençal denomination, lays its foundations. Purchased in 1968 by the Hocquard family, who invested heavily in planting new vineyards, today the owner is Agnès Henry, assisted in the cellar by Julien and Pierre, maître de chai and chef de culture.

Today the Domaine has 12 hectares managed organically, divided into different plots scattered within the appellation, on different types of soil, from clay sandstone to sandy marl, and where the typical Provençal vines are found, among which stands out, as is typical in the Bandol area, the mourvèdre, surrounded by grenache, cinsault, carignan, clairette and rolle.

In the cellar, interventions are reduced to a minimum, to accompany the wines to their natural expression, and there are stainless steel vats, used for whites and rosés, and large wood vats where the reds are vinified and refined, traditionally with only partial destemming . Since 2013, amphorae have also made their entry, from which En Sol comes to life, a mourvèdre with long maceration on the skins.
