GlenAllachie

One of Scotland's few independently owned and operated distilleries, The GlenAllachie is led by industry veteran, Billy Walker, who boasts an incredible 50-year tenure in whisky. Situated at the foot of Ben Rinnes, the distillery is in the heart of Speyside, with a focus on quality rather than quantity. 

The water at the distillery comes from dam heads over 2 miles from the distillery. Henshead and Blackstank flow into Beatshach Burn, which supplies the distillery with water directly, and is north-east of BenRinnes.

Unlike most Scottish distilleries, GlenAllachie has two separate spirit vaults allowing each set of stills to be operated independently. The distillery was also designed to be gravity fed, with horizontal condensers making it easier to maintain a constant temperature or increase/decrease to alter the character of the spirit.

There was a large amount of aged stock dating back to the 1970's left when new ownership came in October 2017. Having received the gift of time, Master Distiller Billy Walker immediately set to work putting his fingerprint on our single malt.

In an era of mergers and acquisitions, GlenAllachie remains private, making it one of the few independently owned distilleries in Scotland.
