Mulassano

This vermouth was born in a café—and not just any café. Caffè Mulassano is an institution, a landmark for all of Turin. Amilcare Mulassano opened his historic bottling plant in the second half of the 19th century, and in 1907 he moved to Piazza Castello in the heart of the city, founding Caffè Mulassano—a gathering place for artists, politicians, and writers in 20th-century Turin. 

Its history is intertwined with that of Pietro Bordiga, the owner of another historic café in the Savoy city: it was from their meeting that Vermouth Mulassano was born. Cavalier Pietro Bordiga had just founded the distillery bearing his name in the Cuneo area—a producer of mountain liqueurs and vermouth—when he met Amilcare Mulassano, for whom he developed an original recipe that has undergone very few changes over the years.

The ingredients are always the same, prepared with the same care and professionalism as in the past; only the proportions of the infusions have been adjusted in recent years to make this vermouth suitable for modern mixology—and not just for drinking neat.
