Camatti
The Camatti bitter is a historic Genoese specialty, born in 1924 in Recco by the Livorno chemist Umberto Briganti, who named his preparation with his wife's surname.
Its original recipe, today kept by the Bergamino family, remains partly secret as per tradition: after a careful selection of the raw materials, an infusion and maceration process is carried out based on the characteristics of each individual herb, flower and aromatic root. and tonic used. The infusion obtained decants into stainless steel barrels and is then filtered to eliminate any impurities. Among the components, almond, cinchona, mint, gentian and bitter orange stand out.
In 2023, the bitter obtained the prestigious title of World's Best Bitter - the Best Amaro in the World -, awarded by the jury of the World Liqueur Awards.
