Cognac & Armagnac

Cognac and Armagnac are famous typically French distillates, both produced by the distillation of wine. Cognac shares some characteristics with Armagnac but differs in the type of still used, terroir and style.
Cognac is more elegant and refined while Armagnac is often more powerful, charged and robust.

Cognac is produced in the Charante district north of Bordeaux.
Armagnac, on the other hand, is produced in Gascony, in south-western France, and is divided into three Crus: Haut-Armagnac, Bas-Armagnac and Armagnac Ténarèze.
