Karukera
Karukera is not a distillery but an agricultural rhum aging or an "eleveur". The idea was born from the collaboration between Gregoire Hayot and Francois Longueteau in 2005, the year in which he took over the Esperance distillery from the latter's father, located within the Domaine du Marquisat de Sainte Marie, in Capesterre, in the south-east of Guadeloupe. The rum arrives fresh as soon as it is distilled directly from the Longueteau family distillery and is prepared for ageing. The first 87 barrels of the famous Seguin-Moreau tonnellerie arrived in Guadeloupe in 2006 and in 2007 the aging "chais" was officially inaugurated.
