Lustau

The Bodegas Lustau were founded in 1896 by José Ruiz-Berdejo, secretary of the Court of Justice, who began to cultivate the family vineyards as a hobby, selling his wines to some sherry producers. At the beginning of the 20th century, his son Emilio Lustau Ortega developed the business, building a new cellar and introducing innovations that led the company, around the mid-1900s, towards the export of its Sherries. The expansion continued until the early 1980s when, under the direction of Rafael Balao, the Bodegas Lustau became one of the best wineries in Jerez de la Frontera, award-winning and appreciated worldwide.
