Cambridge Distillery
Cambridge Distillery was born from the inspiration of William Lowe, a teacher at the Wine and Spirits Education Trust, and his wife, Lucy, who previously worked at Cambridge Business School. The distillery is located in the English countryside, just metres from the River Cam, which winds its way through Grantchester Meadows to the university town of Cambridge, just a few miles away. In addition to providing a splendid backdrop for William and Lucy's work, the English countryside, with its meadows and rolling hills, serves as a botanical treasure trove for the creations born within the Cambridge Distillery. Their work is based on the understanding that gin production has remained largely unchanged since the mid-18th century, which is why they set themselves the goal of achieving an "Exceptional" standard of production and botanical processing! The landscape surrounding the distillery inspired William and Lucy to create gins that capture the flavors of the English seasons, using botanicals grown both on and around their home, and using only the freshest ingredients! This labor of passion and perseverance has garnered numerous accolades: every gin they've created and released has won over critics, receiving international awards, and the distillery has been named the world's most innovative distillery three times in a row! The "Gin Tailoring" project deserves special mention: like stepping into a tailor's workshop, at the Cambridge Distillery you can schedule an appointment with the Master Distiller for a veritable series of blind tastings to determine your preferences and palate sensitivities to the various botanicals available. Then, with the skill of an artisan, you can create your own personal gin recipe. Custom recipes are produced for individuals, companies, institutions, and some of the world's finest restaurants!
