Powerscourt Distillery

Among the many new Irish Whiskey producers, we were fascinated by Powerscourt's project: founded in August 2016 by an independent consortium, it has as its production manager Noel Sweeney, former Distillery Manager of Cooley, a member of Whisky Magazine's Hall of Fame and President of the Irish Whiskey Association: the very presence of Noel is an unequivocal guarantee of the seriousness of the project and the quality of the distillate.

Located in Enniskerry, a few miles away from Dublin, the distillery is based in the old Mill buildings within the beautiful Powerscourt Estate. While waiting for the fruit of the new production to reach maturity, for now the core range of Fercullen Whiskey is obtained from cask stock from the distillery for which Noel previously worked, ensuring a stylistic continuity that is truly unique to Irish Whiskey.
