Cascina Roccalini

Cascina Roccalini is a Langhe winemaking reality linked to the Barbaresco tradition; it began in 2004, the year in which Paolo Veglio, a young and passionate winemaker, began vinifying the grapes from his own vineyards with the help of expert oenologist Dante Scaglione, for years a consultant to a landmark for the area such as Bruno Giacosa. Until that time, the grapes were given right to the Bruno Giacosa winery, since the producer considered the grapes from the Roccalini plot to be among the finest in the entire Barbaresco area. Maintaining an artisanal and traditional style, supported by his mother Luciana, Paolo faithfully interprets the land he has been cultivating since he was a teenager, from which he derives a very limited production of fine quality.
Those of Cascina Roccalini are genuine interpretations of traditional style, far from the standardizing logic of the market. The standard-bearer of the selection is the Barbaresco 'Roccalini,' a complex and elegant label endowed with a pure and authentic dimension, an expression of a cru defined by Masneghetti himself as one of the most interesting in the entire Barbaresco area.
