In the late 1980s, Bruno Compagnon, convinced of the excellence of the Haut-Armagnac terroir, dedicated himself to its revival since it had virtually disappeared from production due to the phylloxera epidemic of the late 19th century. He decided to replant the vineyards of LaRoche-Vacquié overlooking Lectoure, the historic capital of the Counts of Armagnac, eventually returning the entire estate to its original viticultural purpose. In 1997, the Minister of Agriculture awarded Bruno Compagnon the honor of Knight of the Order of Agricultural Merit-second in importance only to the Legion of Honor-for reintroducing Haut Armagnac. Since then, the family has carried on its traditions with dedication and respect for the property's exceptional terroir and ancient know-how. Since 2008, the Compagnons, specifically father Bruno and son Morgan, have converted the LaRoche-Vacquié vineyards into a fully organic estate. To achieve full sustainability, one of the first solar farms in the area was built on the estate in 2011. Morgan officially relaunched the brand internationally in 2022.

LRV is a true Armagnac for American whiskey lovers! The nose opens with intense cherry notes, reminiscent of the old aged Bourbons of yesteryear. It is a great mix of different fruits (mainly cherry, but also mango and plum), spices from the barrel and vanilla. The palate offers an intense sensation with well-integrated alcohol content. Fruits and spices blend well together and allow different notes to be discovered with each sip. The aftertaste lets the oak and spices emerge more and persists for a long time. Overall, the flavor is much older than the 23 years of rest suggest.
