Fonseca's Tawny Port is a delicious dessert wine that pairs particularly well with flavors of almonds, berries, or dark chocolate.

In January following each harvest, Fonseca sets aside a reserve of vintage-quality red port wines that are highly concentrated and powerful, selected and evaluated based on their aging potential. Fonseca Tawny spends three years aging in small wooden casks in Fonseca’s cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. As the tawny ports age, they become lighter in color, while their sediment settles in the cask rather than in the bottle. The racking process contributes to oxidation, causing the wine’s fruit characteristics to gradually diminish while it develops its nutty notes. After three years of aging, the wines are blended together a few months before bottling to achieve balance and harmony.

A reddish-brown color that fades to brick red at the rim. The seductive nose reveals aromas of apricot and plum with soft hints of butterscotch and spices. On the palate, the rich, jam-like flavors are enhanced in the finish by an appealing, crisp acidity.
