It is a field blend, consisting of 85% Mencía and 15% other varieties, such as Garnacha, Brancellao, and Merenzao. The Envínate concept was born in 2005, when the four winemakers met during a winemaking course in Alicante. The winery’s grapes come from two regions: Ribeira Sacra in Galicia, in northwestern Spain, and the Canary Islands, off the coast of Africa. Both are strongly influenced by the Atlantic Ocean and reflect the raw and wild character that this winery embodies.
