The famous Agricole rum from the Savanna distillery, produced from sugar cane juice from the island of Reunion, distilled in the historic Savalle column. Vintage of 2003 bottled in 2019, aged 16 years in ex Armagnac barrels, a wonderful limited edition of only 834 bottles. With the Metissage collection, Savanna pays homage to the origins that have always enriched the melting pot of Réunion Island. This old traditional rum, called Fort Dauphin, comes from the sugar campaign of 2003. To the eye it presents itself with a beautiful dark amber color, shiny and intense. Hints of roasted caramelized sugar, flambé and gourmet exotic fruit. When it is left to breathe it becomes more elegant, with a certain freshness in the background. The fruitiness is more evident and we can distinguish mango, passion fruit and pineapple, which have the same tart freshness. There is a light hint of almond. The flavor is soft and fresh with floral, vegetal and eucalyptus notes. A voluptuous rum with hints of pastry at the end of the meal, reminiscent of rum & raisin ice cream and rum baba. A fine and exotic fruitiness completes its rich tones.
