Sarmassa Barolo DOCG is an elegant Barolo produced by the Piedmontese winery Marchesi di Barolo.
It comes from Nebbiolo grapes, a native vine that has become an icon of the territory over the years. The Sarmassa vineyard boasts optimal characteristics for the cultivation of vines, which have their roots in soils predominantly of clay, limestone and gravel. The presence of stones contains the excessive growth of the vine, allowing the bunches to reach full ripeness and an excellent aromatic profile. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly transported to the cellar. The aging phase takes place partly in large Slavonian oak barrels, while the remainder takes place in fine French barriques. Fantastic already after bottling, Sarmassa Barolo DOCG is a wine that expresses itself to its full potential following a further refinement of at least 5-6 years.
