Emidio Pepe's Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is one of the legendary wines of Italian winemaking. A wine that needs no introduction, produced by one of Italy's best-known and most highly regarded wineries.

Produced from 100% grapes of the variety of the same name, grown on 30-year-old vines planted in medium-textured clay soil. In the vineyard, the principles of organic farming are scrupulously followed and integrated with certain biodynamic practices, although the concept of healthy grapes and soil was already deeply ingrained in Emidio’s philosophy. In the cellar, the process continues with manual destemming of the clusters and spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in vitrified concrete tanks, followed by bottling and decanting by hand without filtration. The wine ages for 24 months in concrete tanks.

In the glass, it is purplish; on the nose, it displays great complexity and is capable of evolving impressively over time—so much so that while it reveals vinous and fresh fruit notes when young, it later enriches its profile with hints of graphite, earth, and undergrowth.
