This Cascade edition is a traditional molasses-based rum from the Reunion Savanna distillery from the 2007, 13-year-old vintage. It has benefited from aging in ex-cognac casks and then finishing in ex-port casks.

The Domaine de Savanna company was created in 1876 and the first distillery was built a few years earlier, in 1870, west of Reunion Island. Savanna moved to Saint-André in 1992, to the Bois-Rouge distillery in the northeast of the island. Initially specializing in wholesale, the brand has been marketing rum under its own name since 2003. However, even today, 80 percent of their production is intended for wholesale to professionals.

Thierry Grondin, R&D manager, and Laurent Broc, former director, are behind the research begun in the 1990s on Grand Arôme, and then on the famous Lontan de Savanna. Therefore, the Savanna range consists of molasses rums (Intense), cane juice (Créol) and rums with great aroma (Lontan)! There are also single casks, cask strengths and vintages.
