A special selection dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the AOC of Martinique, a specification that establishes the correct rules for the production of the best Rum on the island, personally curated by Luca Gargano, patron of Velier, Jean-Claude Benoit, director of the historic Saint distillery James and Marc Sassier, president of AOC Rhum Agricole Martinique, as well as production manager of the distillery. The vertical presents a unique series of Millésime, through a journey through time that starts from 2015 and goes back to 1998, through the 10 most representative vintages of the 25 years of the AOC: an extraordinary series!
Rhum Saint James 1998: sweet, woody, spicy, with notes of mocha, dried fruit and nutmeg.
Rhum Saint James 2000: roasting, cinnamon, cigars and sandalwood, with dark hints of coffee and chocolate.
Rhum Saint James 2002: passion fruit, walnut kernels and nutmeg, with blond tobacco and candied fruit, for a very classic taste.
Rhum Saint James 2004: sweet, woody, with notes of licorice, grilled walnut and an almost tannic bite.
Rhum Saint James 2006: sweet, with notes of dried fruit, cinnamon and almond paste, very balanced.
Rhum Saint James 2008: discreet, subtle and refined, with notes of milk chocolate, tobacco, dried flowers and sweet roasting.
Rhum Saint James 2010: intense and fine, with notes of candied bergamot, plum, coffee and cinnamon.
Rhum Saint James 2012: intense, woody, spicy, with notes of ripe fruit and dates, mocha, candied citrus peel and tobacco.
Rhum Saint James 2014: dark in tones of fig and date, black cocoa and oak, needs time to open up and smooth out.
Rhum Saint James 2015: intense, spicy, with notes of cinnamon, fern and toasted dried fruit, it already shows great maturation potential, with a long finish of candied peel.
