Allegrini is the largest producer of the Valpolicella appellation, it is considered among the most prestigious Italian references in the world.

The Amarone wines of the Allegrini family reflect a unique know-how handed down from generation to generation and a perfect mastery of the drying process, with a strong identity and a unique style.

Within the Valpolicella Classico appellation, the vineyard from which this Allegrini Amarone Valpolicella Classico Riserva Fieramonte 2013 is born is located at 415 meters above sea level on a stony ground, rich in stony matter, magnesium and iron.

The 2013 vintage was characterized by a mild autumn, with temperatures above the seasonal average, followed by a very rainy and snowy winter. The following mild spring favored a progressive and homogeneous ripening of the grapes, thanks above all to the generous amount of sun.

The summer months with their combination of warm days and cool nights were helpful in ensuring ideal ripening.

This 2013 vintage is characterized by ideal climatic conditions for the vegetative cycle of the vine, favoring a progressive and optimal ripening of the grapes.

Hand-picked at the end of September, the grapes are naturally dried for 3 or 4 months in a structure in order to lose about 45% of their original weight. At the beginning of January, the grapes are de-stemmed and gently pressed. A 25-day maceration with daily pumping over is followed by fermentation in steel tanks at a controlled temperature.

Aged for 48 months in French oak barrels, the wines are then blended for 6 months before bottling. A final phase of one year of bottle aging takes place before the cuvée is marketed.

This Allegrini Amarone Valpolicella Classico Riserva Fieramonte 2013 is a blend of Corvina Veronese (45%), Corvinove (45%), Rondinella (5%) and Oseleta (5%).

Intense ruby in color on the nose it gradually opens up to aromas of red fruits, aromatic herbs that grow on the dry stone walls of the region and spices ranging from black pepper to cloves. Powerful and broad on the palate with a fantastic persistence.
