Above all, the name of this Cremant reveals a piece of history from the past. In fact, with "An 825" Gérard Bertrand reveals the history of the great terroirs of southern France, with the first written trace of the Abbey of Saint Hilaire dating back to 825. The Abbey is, in fact, located near Limoux and is famous for having hosted the monks who discovered the secret of effervescent wines.
The Crémant de Limoux Brut “An 825” by Gerard Bertrand is made from Chenin blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. It comes in a beautiful salmon pink. The nose is quite complex and aromatic and reveals hints of strawberry, mandarin and rose petals. On the palate it is fresh and juicy, with an excellent citrus finish.
