This year, Cristina De Middel, a Spanish photographer and member of Magnum Photos, was invited by La Maison du Whisky and its Italian partner Velier to immerse herself in the world of Hampden for a week. The damp darkness of the fermentation room, the labyrinth of pipes, the facades covered in vegetation, the peacocks with their iridescent plumage, the dusty and damp rooms... Through her lens and unexpected compositions, Cristina De Middel lends these places a cinematic quality, at times tinged with surrealism. Four photographs taken during her trip were selected to illustrate the bottlings of this new series of rums from various brands, distilled between 2016 and 2021.
