It has a ruby-red colorwith slight garnet highlights. On the nose, it offers fresh, sweet notes of black cherry, blackberry, cocoa, tobacco, tamarind, and a hint of spice.
On the palate, it is smooth and enveloping, with silky tannins, great intensity, and a long finish that blends the ripe fruit flavors of the grapes with spicy notes derived from extended aging on the lees through bâtonnage, which meld together to impart subtle, pleasant woody notes.
