Mother Mesccia: Pure Single Rum, Just Like in the 1600s

Mother Mesccia is a premium white Pure Single Rum born from the fusion of Haitian terroir and Monegasque craftsmanship, inspired by an ancient tradition of the Principality of Monaco: it represents a modern reinterpretation of the historic“mesccia,” that is, a blend of Caribbean rum brought to Monaco by Genoese sailors and European spirits such as vermouth and Marsala as early as the 17th century.

Today, the Principality and Velier are reviving that tradition with a modern twist, producing a high-quality rum that is no longer blended but aged in ex-vermouth and ex-Marsala barrels. The white distillate thus serves as the“mother” from which the future barrel-aged blend will evolve, which is why it has been named Mother Mesccia.
