Trinidad's legendary rum distillery Caroni closed its doors in 2003. Since then, these distinctive and particularly 'heavy' rums have become among the most collected. A single cask of Caroni rum distilled in a column in 1997. This column rum was stored for 25 years, partly spent in the Tropics and partly in Europe, in ex-rum barrels and was bottled with an alcohol content of 64.5%.
