This limited edition blended malt Scotch whiskey from Old Perth showcases Pedro Ximénez sherry-aged whiskies.

The first in an annual series of limited editions from Morrison Distillers' Old Perth range: Old Perth Pedro Ximenez. As with the entire Old Perth range, this whiskey is fully matured in PX sherry casks.

This Limited Edition takes its name from the luxurious grape from southern Spain (Pedro Ximenez), harvested very ripe or sun-dried to concentrate the sugar and natural acidity of the wine.

Maturation in a combination of Pedro Ximenez Sherry Hogsheads and Butts has resulted in a whiskey rich in flavor with a velvety texture.

Bottled at 56.2% and limited to 800 bottles, expect rich notes of cooked fruit, sherry-soaked plums and dark chocolate on the palate.

Lots of dried fruit and sticky, sweet spices here, with the whiskey bottled without chill filtration or added color.

The name Old Perth is linked to Scotland and the town of the same name, in fact it was Peter Thomson who in 1908 created the blend that would become famous.

Today the brand has been purchased by one of the most appreciated master distillers in Scotland, Billy Walker, who, as usual, has managed to revive Old Perth with high quality bottlings, we can perhaps go too far by saying that these releases are even more as good as the original.
