Jamaican rums are renowned for their excellent and diverse aromatic profile and this is equally true for the legendary Long Pond distillery. In reference to the Tilston Estate, which went out of business in the mid-20th century, Long Pond Distillery named three of its high-ester rums after the Tilston Estate, once owned by Dermot Owen Kelly-Lawson. These are TECA, TECB and TECC rums, i.e. Tilston Estate Continental A, B and C.
These aromatic rums are created by fermentation with dunder, which takes up to 30 days. It is the slow fermentation that contributes significantly to the typically wild Jamaican flavour. The most important of the trio of rums is the marks TECC, with an ester content between 1500 and 1600 g/hlp.
