The goal of the Tuscan distillery Winestillery is to recreate a “pre-modern” vodka with the same characteristics as the one that became popular in the 14th century at the Russian court of the tsars. The starting point is Chianti wine, which, after an initial distillation to 95% vol., is redistilled a second time in a pot still to impart greater roundness and finesse.
The second distillation in the pot still takes place over a very long period of time, with extremely slow condensation of the alcohol vapors, allowing for the selection of the most subtle and delicate aromas. The result is a one-of-a-kind premium vodka, deeply rooted in Tuscany.
