Akashi Ume Blended Whiskey Umeshu Cask Finish is a fine Japanese whiskey produced by the renowned White Oak distillery on the island of Honshu.

It is a whiskey with a distinctive character, made with 30 percent malted barley that gives it a unique richness and complexity.

This blend is the result of a double distillation process in traditional pot stills, used for only one month per year, making its production extremely limited.

The first aging phase takes place in ex-Bourbon barrels, which give it a delicate woody and sweet harmony. However, the real distinctive touch of this whiskey is its three-month finish in barrels of Umeshu Shiratama, a Japanese plum liqueur. This particular maturation enriches the whisky with a fruity sweetness and aromatic complexity that makes it unique.

On the nose, enticing aromas of vanilla and plum emerge, evoking the Umeshu connection. On the palate, the whiskey is round and complex, with woody and spicy flavors well balanced by plum sweetness. The finish is elegant, leaving a hint of wood that lingers gently.
