This "Roccalini" is a Barbaresco made from the pure grapes of Piedmont's quintessential red grape variety, Nebbiolo. The vines of this variety are raised according to organic farming principles, and the yields between the rows are about 50 quintals per hectare. Once the grapes are harvested and brought to Cascina Roccalini's winemaking facilities, they undergo a long fermentation in stainless steel with submerged caps, thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts. Then comes aging, in which the wine is aged for 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels, to be then bottled without clarification or filtration.
Barbaresco "Roccalini" wine reveals itself on visual examination with a typically ruby color. The ensemble of scents enveloping the nose presents floral and balsamic notes, enhanced by more spicy and fruity touches. On the palate, it is full-bodied, round and harmonious, with a pleasant sip marked by a savory streak and a finely integrated tannic texture. A label with which the Cascina Roccalini winery, a young reality of the Langhe, continues its path, in which quality is the result of a genuine and traditional approach, where there is no room for herbicides or synthetic products.
