This Armagnac was produced in 1985 by Domaine Pouchegu from Ugni Blanc grapes in Armagnac Ténarèze, France.

Aged for 36 years in cask #H6 in a humid warehouse (cellar) and was matured in 2022 (08/2022) in collaboration with Château de Hontambère bottled at cask strength with 56.6%. An Alambic Armagnacais (column still) was used for the distillation.

An immediately inviting, powerful but comfortable nose. The fruits are black cherries in syrup, fig paste, cooked red apple. Spices like cinnamon and cloves. Medium to dark honey. Vanilla. And a fragrant, toasted and chocolatey woody note. The woody notes bring a somewhat smoky quality.

On the palate it takes up what was largely captured on the nose!

Black cherries in syrup, fig paste, sweet red apple, date, resinous honey, cinnamon and cloves. There are notes of chocolate along with notes of toasted wood. The fruity, spicy and woody notes are well linked, which makes it intense and harmonious.
