The Macallan The Harmony Collection Green Meadow is the embodiment of spring and represents the second bottling of the third edition of the Harmony Collection, in the Travel Retail version with similar aging but without details.
The nose does justice to its name, with floral (heather, hyacinth) and herbaceous (damp grass, tea leaves) notes with mineral intrusions of wet stone. The fruity part is expressed in fresh and crunchy strokes on impressions of peach, cranberry, white melon, dried apricot, acacia honey, almonds and a light note of crème fraîche. At the bottom, maple syrup and brown sugar. Captivating and evocative.
On the palate it has a light body in which ginger biscuits, marzipan and sugar icing dominate, with the herbaceous part pushed into the background and emerging (but not too much) in length, embodied in tea leaves and tobacco. Honey, caramel, grapefruit, spices (pepper, nutmeg, anise) appear in random order in the background.
Fairly short and dry finish of marzipan, spices, meringue, grapefruit.
Like its brother it offers an interesting and rich nose combined with an ethereal and never intrusive palate. A balanced whisky, a representation of a new spring, with budding trees and flowers about to bloom.
