Fidelitas is the name of the new release from Foursquare, the tenth installment in a now-longstanding partnership between Luca Gargano and Richard Seale, the mind and hand behind Foursquare Distillery in Barbados. This collaboration began in 2016 and is built on a shared vision of transparency, authenticity, and quality in the world of rum, aimed primarily at giving this spirit the dignity and respect at least equal to that of the great European spirits. The intellectual and philosophical harmony born from this meeting led to a series of co-bottlings that began with Foursquare 2006 and helped consolidate the distillery's fame. Foursquare Fidelitas is a single blended rum born from a selection of rums distilled in 2004 in double-retort copper pot stills and column Coffey stills, a signature Foursquare style. After distillation, the rums mature in a tropical climate for a total of 20 years: 19 years in ex-Bourbon barrels and a final year of aging in ex-Marsala barrels, a finish that adds an additional layer of enveloping smoothness to the Fidelitas profile. It is the oldest Foursquare ever released to date.
