The white "Anfora" comes from pure Trebbiano grapes grown in the province of Atri, all from estate vineyards. Manual harvesting is just a natural seal of the approach adopted by Francesco both in the vineyard and in the winery, under the banner of as little interventionism as possible. The grapes after being destemmed and crushed are transferred to terracotta amphorae, where fermentation will take place thanks to a previously prepared pied de cuve and only through the intervention of indigenous yeasts. The brief one-day maceration on the skins precedes the malolactic fermentation and aging, which will take place in the same amphorae for 12 months.
Trebbiano D'Abruzzo "Anfora" bathes the glass with intense yellow garb, veering toward golden. It is striking for how it knows how to skillfully blend spontaneity with an innate elegance, and it declines notes of yellow-fleshed fruit, iodine memories and mineral lashings. The sip is compact, the matter with which it is naturally endowed is perfectly balanced by freshness and savoriness, for a zen wine that makes harmony its main weapon. The almondy return enhances the complexity of the liquid, which sits at the everyday table, participating in it in an engaging and dynamic way.
