From Réunion's oldest distillery still in operation comes an exceptional co-bottling: in collaboration with Cyril Isautier, three of the oldest barrels from the Isautier cellar were selected to create this 15-year-old Small Batch version.
This molasses rum was aged from 2007 to 2009 in ex-rhum Isautier barrels, then from 2009 to 2019 in ex-Cognac barrels, and finally from 2019 to 2021 again in ex-rhum Isautier barrels. Bottled in March 2022 at 57%, it is a limited edition of only 991. These are the last barrels of batch #36, among the oldest in the entire winery.
The Isautier distillery was founded in 1845 in Saint Pierre, south of Reunion, and has been a family business for seven generations now. The Isautier family has been an active participant in the life and history of Réunion for as long as I can remember, and the distillery is constantly developing, particularly in the export sector. From the property, which covers 500 hectares, 300 of which are dedicated to sugar cane, come both agricultural and traditional aged rums, all of the highest quality.
