Just as the characters in the children's series G Command saved the world from enemy forces, the eponymous winery has worked to save fascinating and endangered parcels of land in the Sierra de Gredos, positioning this little-known region as one of the Spanish wine highlights. Made up of Daniel Landi and Fernando García Alonso, these two Garnachistas can now boast a collection of wines dedicated to the granite terroir and which can be classified into regional, village, site and single parcel wines.

This wine comes from one of the highest vineyards in Gredos, in the village of Navatalgordo, whose soils are mainly distinguished by their granite composition and the absence of clay. The 60-year-old vines are cultivated in an artisanal and respectful manner and, once harvested by hand, the grapes are immediately taken to the cellar. Spontaneous fermentation begins with indigenous whole bunch yeasts and the wine is then aged in foudres, combined with concrete tanks, for 10 months. Finally it is bottled without filtering or clarifying.

Being directly responsible for the recovery of fascinating plots that were in danger of extinction, preserving not only the wine richness of the region, but also contributing to its fame and legacy in the wine world, they present us with fascinating wines like this Comando G Navatalgordo, a wine of country produced within the D.O. Cebreros. Pure reflection of the essence of this city's landscape in every sip.
