Passito Liquoroso di Pantelleria from Marsala's famous Pellegrino Winery is made from Zibibbo grapes grown in sandy volcanic soil at an altitude of up to 300 m (1,000 ft) near the sea on the island of Pantelleria in western Sicily. This golden fortified passito has an intense and persistent bouquet. It is harmonious and honeyed, with notes of dried fig and slight hints of apricot and mustard.
